Systems using commercial modems and telephone connections for time dissemination, the information been traceable to the national time & frequency standard, are widely used in most of the European countries. This system represents an attempt toward an European standardisation.
The dissemination service, designed to synchronise computer clocks or digital terminals, is capable to attain accuracies ranging from low to medium (100 ms to 1 ms).
This paper will give some results of an experimental analysis both in laboratory conditions and connected to the telephone network, in order to evaluate the timing capability of the system.
