Abstract:
The development and evolution of mesoscale convective systems and of isolated supercell initiation is based on the horizontal vorticity that develop due to the vertical wind shear. The interaction between the updraft and the vorticity determines the organization of convection. The horizontal vorticity distribution is correlated with shear instability. The presence in the environment of shear instability control the dynamical processes in the initiated of the convective phenomena. Thus the supercell split and the development of the rotation updraft can be enhanced and sustained by the shear instability. This instability appears mainly due to low and middle level jet. Dynamic interaction of second order between the gust front and the environment can produce this instability that subsequently produce nonsupercell tornadic vortex. This study analyze three cases of severe convection in Romania where we could identify the supercell split, the storm relative jet and the development of several vortexes along the gust front, all these due to the shear instability.
