Abstract:
Geomagnetic storms are known to be of great importance through their impact on the space and ground based technologies, telecommunications, electric power networks and so on. In this study we identify the intense geomagnetic storms registered during the 24th solar cycle according to geomagnetic index Dst (− 100 ≥ Dst ≥ − 150). The dynamics of the Dst geomagnetic index as well as the corresponding southern component of the interplanetary magnetic field (Bz) are also comparatively analyzed.
