Abstract:
In this paper we present experimental results obtained in order to determine the detection limit in the cross sections assessment for Nuclear Astrophysics. Such experiments are used to study different stages from the evolution of the Universe, for example, for obtaining information about the formation and evolution of natural elements through nuclear processes starting from Big Bang. We have studied the 12C+13C fusion reaction. This experiment consists of irradiating a target of 12C (natural carbon) with an intense beam of 13C2+ provided by the 3 MV accelerator. The sample obtained from this process is transported to Slanic Prahova underground laboratory for ultra low background measurements.
