Abstract:
The demand for accurate and reliable performance data has increased, as data monitoring plays an important role in Renewable Energy Sources production metering and reporting, for evaluation purposes as well as commercial. The proposed data acquisition system in this paper consists of a set of sensors for measuring electrical parameters (photovoltaics voltage and current etc.) of a Photovoltaic Array. More advanced systems may comprise other sensors as well, for gathering meteorological data (e.g. temperature, humidity etc.) or measuring solar radiation (Pyranometer). The collected data is transmitted using a cellular modem to a web-server for further processing and storage.
