Abstract:
The electrostatic particle accelerators in the MeV range are a gate wide open to study in detail condensed matter properties. We report in this paper the Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) analysis of the Be-W-D thin films mixtures obtained by Thermionic Vacuum Arc (TVA) technique. The stoichiometry and the depth profile was determined by using a 2.5 MeV alpha beam. The energy calibration procedure of the 3 MV Tandetron Accelerator, from the Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH), by using the well know 27Al(p,ã)28Si nuclear reaction resonance at 991.88 keV is also presented.
