Abstract:
Modeling and simulation for theoretical devices emerged as an important tool for fuel cell engineers. Researchers, designers and developers have used modeling to explore fuel cell characteristics, foreseen their performances and behavior in well defined systems. Two important issues arise in fuel cell modeling: choosing the appropriate model in order to balance the capabilities, accuracy and robustness of the fuel cell systems; the model must be "tuned" so it properly represents the problem being modeled and accurately describe the parameter variation deriving from the system. This considered, the current study deals with the fundamental principals and equations that represent the basics for modeling and simulations of fuel cell.
