Abstract:
In the last few years the energy production transition has undergone serious transformation by relying more and more on renewable sources of energy, all in the perspective of reducing the CO2 global emissions. Wind energy, a renewable, non-polluting “green energy”, has become an important alternative to fossil fuel based energy. The main objective of the paper was to design, build and test a vertical small scale wind turbine and also understand all the aspects of wind energy and promising technological advancements made in the last couple of year. The project started by building an actual vertical wind turbine and experiment with it to find out it`s power output and efficiency.
