Abstract:
With technologies evolving faster from year to year, the scientific community maintained a large interest in thin film deposition techniques, especially regarding plasma polymerization methods. This scientific interest in highly supported due to the continuously emerging nano-scale technological applications. Plasma polymerization in an important method used for thin film deposition. Herein, we present various types of polymerization procedures used in a Direct Current (DC) Plasma Polymerization Reactor, in order to create new structures of thin polymer films, as well as tackle several issues which might arise when employing such a method. We show particular research results obtained for thin film deposition, while emphasizing on the high importance of the deposition angle parameter in the thin film morphology.
