Abstract:
We investigate the coherence length by comparing the density dependent delta (DDD) pairing interaction to the Gaussian interaction with different width parameters. We compare three Gaussian widths corresponding to (a) the standard singlet bare potential, (b) the geometrical nuclear radius and (c) a selfconsistent procedure. In the last case pairing equations are solved with an additional”selfconsistent” condition, by identifying the coherence length to the width of the Gaussian two-body nuclear interaction. The case (a) has the remarkable property to reproduce the experimental gap parameter for very light nuclei. It turns out that that the correlations induced by the pairing interaction have a long range character, namely the coherence length is much larger than the geometrical radius for light nuclei and approaches this value for heavy nuclei in all investigates cases.
