Abstract:
The photofission fragments of 238U by the process of nuclear fission induced by gamma quanta are obtained. Cross section of photofission process of 238U is evaluated for gamma energy up to some MeV-s, including the giant-resonance region. The theoretical evaluated cross section is compared with experimental data. In this contribution we present a study of isomeric yield ratios of the primary photofission products of 238U. The standard codes and programs realized by the authors for calculation of isomer ratios were used. Using the Hauser-Feshbach model of nuclear reactions, effects of gamma quanta on the nuclear structure parameters of the compound nucleus by use of isomer ratio method are discussed.
