Abstract:
We describe the measurement of the activity concentration of natural radionuclides in two radioactive samples of two ash electrofilter and mecanofilter from a coal power plant. The final aim was to find the activity concentration values of the natural occurring radionuclides from 238U, 235U, 232Th series and 40K, which is not negligible. The uncertainty determination of the activity of the sample is influenced by the system and software. High resolution gamma-ray spectrometry was performed in two laboratories from Horia-Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering – IFIN-HH, Radioisotopes and Radiation Metrology Department (DRMR), Radionuclide Metrology Laboratory (LMR/DRMR/IFIN-HH) and Laboratory for Testing and Certification of Compliance for Radiopharmaceuticals, Radiochemical and Radioactive Sources Radioisotopes and Radiation Metrology Department (CPRLAB/DRMR/IFIN-HH), Romania, RENAR accredited and CNCAN designated for calibration. Software used: LMR, dr. A. Luca used GammaVision for Windows Model A66-B32, v. 6.1 UMCBI Kernel Version 6.09 Connections-32 v.6.09, (A. Luca 2003) Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. (AMETEK) Maestro-32 Model A65-B32, v. 6.06 Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. (AMETEK) (ORTEC), GESPECOR v. 4.2. for Monte Carlo Simulation (O. Sima, D. Arnold, C. Dovlete), EFFIGIE for efficiency calculations CEA/LNHB, Saclay, France (Debertin, 1988, Geraldo et al., 1990); CPRLAB, dr. B.L. Neacsu used Genie 2000, Gamma Acquisition&Analysis, v.3.2.1, Aug26, 2009, Canberra by Canberra Industrie, GESPECOR v. 4.2. EFFIGIE. The results and the conclusion are described and discussed.
