Abstract:
In the context of the global warming of the last decades, the possible future climate changes represent a subject of large interest for scientists and public. Based on very recent data and numerical simulations performed by the scientific community, I provide answers to essential actual questions regarding the climate: Is the Earth warming? What is the cause of global temperature increase in the last century? Is the present climate state a warning signal for the human society? By analyzing the past abrupt climate changes one should expect such events in the near future? Which are the most delicate components of the climate system? What are the climate projections for the near future?
