Abstract:
Sustainable home design is a elaborate technical solution wich takes in to account a variety of renewable energy sources, different types of biomass, water management hydrosystems, thermal management. The main goal is building anywhere at anytime. The major drawbacks in designing sustainable homes are the indoor environment, thermal comfort, ventilation, airflow quality and airflow distribution. The development in home design is not always convergent with the trends in energy sustainability. In the pursuit of accomplishing these goals, the home design is combined with thorough energy reviews using software such as: Homer, EQuest, RetScreen and Edificius. This study focuses on the concept adaptive thermal comfort, consisting of innovative airflow distribution systems and on the ventilation effectiveness to identify and assess the most suitable room air distribution methods for various types of homes.According to each task of the ventilation system, such as removal of heat, removal of pollutant, supply of fresh air or protecting from cross infection the ventilation effectiveness or efficiency could be determined. The analysis of these parameters is useful for establishing the optimal methods of thermal management.
