Abstract:
The time-dependent charge transport across nanostructured interfaces is described within a coherent wavefunctions approach. First, a simplified model, a closed quantum system, has been considered for investigating the transport across the interfaces. Next, the formalism is extended to open quantum systems, where transparent boundary conditions (TBCs) are implemented using the R-matrix method. The scattering formalism employed is suitable to describe the time dependent coherent transport and we exemplify on a few test-case interfaces relevant for photovoltaic applications.
