Abstract:
WILLI-AIR experiment is developed at IFIN_HH, to investigate the secondary particles appeared in the interaction of the primary energetic particles from cosmos with the Earth atmosphere. The experiment will have a relative big active area, containing 24 stations , and a modular detector WILLI. The active area for each station will be around 1m2 , and the entrance window for the detector will have the same surface. The goal of the experiment is to investigate the muon flux and the muon charge ratio inside atmospheric cascade. For this measurement the detectors and the front end electronics must have a very good time resolutions, and is expected to bee around 100 ps. The time resolution is needed to correlate the stations and although to determinate de position by using the time of flight method between different layers inside the colorimetter.
