Abstract: This paper is the practice of designing for a photovoltaic stand-alone application of well pump, especially a shallow well pump. This small pumping system is installed to provide domestic water for residents in a village.
The sizing is a technique that can be designed using the worksheets provided. The calculations are simple and easy, including information about sites available hardware, wiring sizes and line drawings to illustrate the techniques of installation. However, the emphasis in this paper is to present a consist techniques of sizing a photovoltaic (PV) system. Photovoltaic systems operate reliably independent and are the best option for remote applications worldwide. Obtaining a reliable long-term performance in a photovoltaic system requires the computation of consistent, reliable knowledge of hardware used and performance sites, use of best practices to the installation and development of a plan of complete operation and maintenance of the PV system. Appropriate selection of system components directly determines the reliability, lifetime and reasonable initial cost. Using multiple batteries and photovoltaic modules, can extend the life and reliability of the photovoltaic system designed for a specific application, but will increase the initial cost. Because the replenishment rate of the source was low, it was decided to incorporate batteries into system and allow pumping all day long. The drawings from this work represent actual application needed in system design and selection of system components.
