Abstract:
Tesla Powerwall is a home appliance device (a battery) that can be mounted on a garage or house wall and ignored. Although it will be available globally starting with 2016 and it probably take one more year to see the first Romanian implementation via the “early adopters” (peoples with a passion for new and green technologies), the purpose of the present paper is to evaluate the readiness of the Romanian households for the implementation of such technology, whose aim is to become the cheapest and the greenest energy source from the world. This work evaluates the Tesla proposed use cases – called the original model, relevant for USA only, at this moment, also an updated set of use cases, more relevant to Romanian energy and legal infrastructure are made and a Romanian localized solution is be proposed. The economic efficiency of the original and proposed use cases will be evaluated and a pack of corrective actions (both technical and legal) are proposed. The real cost of the implementation of the Powerwall appliance is analyzed and some predictions are made.
