Abstract: The Center for Science Education and Training (CSET - http://education.inflpr.ro/ro/ home.htm) celebrates its 10th anniversary with a large pallet of educational activities, run under the umbrella of several national and European projects. This contribution will introduce the major projects we are involved in, projects focused on the promotion of the inquiry-based science education (IBSE). INSTEM (http://education.inflpr.ro/ro/INSTEM.htm, the EU’s LLL Program grant No. 2012-4827/001-001 is a Comenius network, which brings together the experience of a wide range of projects in IBSE. It develops accessible synthesis reports and briefings, and provides regular updates on progress in STEM education, based on state of the art information from researchers, practitioners and policymakers in the field. With its focus on problem-solving and critical thinking, IBSE is well-suited for teaching Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at school. The SUSTAIN project (http://education.inflpr.ro/ro/SUSTAIN.htm, the EU’s LLL Program grant No. 2013 - 3853/001-001 provides the space for the development of critical thinking which has to be combined with the creative act. During three years, the SUSTAIN network will develop three cross-cutting ESD topics and an innovative IBSE-based “toolbox” on ESD for teachers and teacher educators. The CEYS project (http://education.inflpr.ro/ro/IBEST.htm, the EU Erasmus+ Program grant No.2014-1-EL01-KA201-001644 focuses on the development of a course and accompanying teaching materials to be used in European teachers' professional development for the promotion of creative approaches in teaching science in preschool and early primary education, in the frame of IBSE. The overall aim of the CEYS project is to adapt, test, implement and disseminate a new training framework that will support the training of teachers to use creativity and IBSE. The i-BEST project (http://www.ceys-project.eu, contract UEFICS 223/2012) is a national educational project supporting IBSE through an e-leaning platform, a virtual library and a collaborative platform, and it addresses the group age from 5 to 15 years old.
