Abstract:
The mesoscopic phenomenological model to describe the liquid crystal – carbon nanotubes mixture already published in a previous paper [1] is extended to include the attractive interactions. These interactions are modeled by a spatially uniform mean field potential. The influence of the attraction on the phase diagram is theoretically analized for different values of temperature, volume fraction of carbon nanotubes component, nematic carbon nanotubes – nematic liquid crystal coupling strength and attractive mean field strength.
