Abstract:
In this work we have determinate the degree of polarization,of a polarized laser beam which pass through nanoparticles suspensions, with a polarimeter. The main idea is to see how the state of polarization of the laser it is modified after it passes through different nanoparticle suspension media. With the polarimeter we can find the Stokes parameters (S1, S2 and S3), which give us the degree of polarization. The Stokes parameters, which characterize also the state of polarization, are provided as analog output voltages. Our samples are different metallic nanoparticles (e.g.: Aluminum, Gold) in suspensions (distillated water) with different dimensions and concentrations. In this paper we will established if the degree of polarization depends on the particles dimensions which are in suspensions.
