Abstract:
Microscopic approaches represent the best method for nuclear matter compressibility extraction when constrained to reproduce experimental giant monopole resonance energies. However, the method was shown to overestimate the energies for Sn isotopes. Understanding why tin nuclei are soft is important for a better knowledge of the neutron-rich matter Nuclear Equation of State. A transport approach based on two coupled Landau-Vlasov kinetic equations is employed for studying the response of 124Sn and 132Sn to an isoscalar monopole boost.
