Abstract:
The top quark Yukawa coupling connects the heavies particles in the Standard Model, the top quark and the Higgs boson. It plays a crucial role within the Standard Model searches, as its precise measurement might give an insight on the possible existence and the energy scale of the new physics at Electroweak scale. The coupling can be measured indirectly via loop contributions, or directly via the Higgs boson production in association with a pair of top quarks. We studied the latter process in the two same-sign lepton channel with no taus (dominated by H -> WW), one of the most sensitive channel. We provide prospects for this measurement in the ATLAS-LHC Run-2 (13 TeV, 100fb-1) and show that an overall precision of 75% on the signal strength could be reached. The measurement is completely dominated by systematic uncertainties coming from experimental sources (jet energy scale and b tagging), theory (ttV cross-section with V = W; Z) and data-driven methods for fake lepton estimation. We evaluate the potential gains that could be brought by more sophisticate background estimation techniques.
