Abstract:
High optical transparency and high electrical conductivity are the physical properties that categorize transparent conductor oxides (TCO) into a promising class of materials, even though, according to the electromagnetic theory, they are considered mutually exclusive properties. Here we present our results on the structural, electrical and optical characterization of In2O3:Sn and ZnO:Nd transparent oxide thin-films deposited on glass using rf-sputtering and Pulsed Electron Deposition (PED), respectively. The temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity, mobility and free-carrier density was determined in the range 30 - 300 K; scattering mechanisms inducing the observed temperature dependence of the resistivity are discussed.
