Abstract:
Smooth Ni-YSZ thin films without cracks, droplets free and no NiO compound were identified on the surface with an increasing roughness at higher contents of Ni were deposited by RF-PLD from a target of metallic Ni and 8YSZ placed at 5 cm to Si(100) substrate at 600„aC. A thorough investigation regarding material morphology, structure, optical and compositional was performed by means of AFM, SEM, XRD, XPS and SE techniques. The slight decrease of the lattice parameters with the proportion of Ni metallic component in the target could marked a partial isomorphous substitution of Ni+ in the YSZ lattice, accompanied by a decrease of the crystallite size.
