Abstract:
The direct radiative forcing of the aerosol at surface of the Earth depends on its characteristics. Optical parameters like Aerosol Optical Depth(AOD), Single Scattering Albedo (SSA), Angstrom coefficient can be used to determine the radiative forcing (RF)for meteorological conditions characterized by relative humidity (RH), cloud cover fraction (CCF) and surface albedo (α)parameters. The goal of our work was to demonstrate the importance of knowledge both the aerosol type and meteorological conditions for aerosol radiative forcing variation. For study were used the measurements of Particulate Matters (PM10)concentrations at threedifferent stations: BucurestiiNoi (urban station), Magurele (suburban station) and Surlari (rural station), located in Bucharest area. The aerosol optical parameters were obtained by using the soft OPAC (Optical Properties of Aerosols and Clouds) [1] and direct radiative forcing was computed using a box model [2]. The daily mass concentrations obtained at the three stations for winter (DJF) 2014- 2015 were used as input data. The results show that SSA values obtained for all stations are higher than SSA critic value. This means a negative radiative forcing, so cooling of the atmospheric air. The cooling is higherat BucurestiiNoi than for the other two stations, because the pollution is more intense in this zone, especially due to the more intense traffic. Another explanation is related to the type of the aerosol; in area of BucurestiiNoi, the soot amountin aerosol composition is larger than at Magurele and Surlari. In addition, the urban island of the city modifies the meteorological parameters favorable to radiative processes.
