Abstract:
A simple and inexpensive ionic liquid (i.e. deep eutectic solvent) has been prepared by mixing choline chloride and urea (1:2 molar ratio) via mechanical stirring. Distinctive properties of this ionic liquid (e.g. non-toxicity, non-flammability) make it a promising candidate for various applications. In order to investigate its prospects as a thermal storage medium, we have examined its thermal properties (thermal conductivity, latent heat etc.) by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
