Abstract:
In this paper we use Legendre moments to represent response in textural features related to phase transitions of liquid crystals as function of temperature. We will see that abrupt changes in the curves correspond to the transition temperatures of samples. Despite of their high computational complexity, application of the Legendre moment polynomial function is useful because of its sensitivity, especially when higher-order moment calculations are needed.
