Abstract:
Clinical dosimetry plays an important role in radiation therapy practice. Clinical dosimetry represents the entire chain and setting parameters for measuring radiation beam emitted by the linear accelerator in reference conditions. Of this service depends on the quality of healthcare provided to patients. The most important measure is the absorbed dose by water in reference conditions. In this study we present the results of measurements of the absorbed dose by water in reference conditions for the linear accelerator of Coltea Hospital. The measured values were corrected to all influence quantities specified in Code of Practice TRS 398. We demonstrated the stability and the quality of the measurement of the water absorbed dose by assessing their z-score. The score assessment for water absorbed dose was evaluated according to ISO 13528:2005. The values obtained are within the limits set by current standards.
