Abstract:
Hydroxyapatite is a mineral component of hard tissue of the body, extensively studied, because of its multiple applications in medicine. Its high biocompatibility recommend it for clinical applications. Nowadays, it is synthesized in laboratories by multiple methods results in a wide range of end products with specific properties. An important parameter is the degree of crystallinity. For thin films of hydroxyapatite, we have experimentally demonstrated that the crystallization process and crystal formations are strongly influenced by plasma pretreatment of the surface. Nucleation is predominantly on the surface and not in volume and this observation may be used in dental surgeries sealing.
