Abstract:
One important aspect of neutron dosimetry is the knowledge of total neutron flux and neutron spectra. This paper adressess the issue of the determination for the total neutron flux using a well known high energy neutron source (PuBe) moderated with light water. Starting from the inner workings of the detector, the results are in good concordance with the source parameters. Monte Carlo simulation was employed for the accurate estimation of the neutron spectra after several moderation layers.
