Abstract:
This study analyses the optical parameters of the aerosol using data from Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET), in order to determine the dominant aerosol type at two locations: Bucharest-INOE(Magurele) and Eforie (Constanta). Aerosol types are classified on the basis of the dominant size mode and radiation absorptivity determined by the fine mode fraction (FMF) and single scattering albedo (SSA), respectively. Using this classification it can distinguish between dust, mixture, BC, and non-absorbing anthropogenic aerosol (NA). Analyzing a two years data set (2014-2015) we found NA dominant aerosol in the both locations. Also, the averages of aerosol optical depth (AOD) are similar, around 0.21. Concerning the average values for Angstrom exponent (AE), there are some differences, its value is greater in Bucharest than in Eforie (AE for Bucharest is 1.55 and for Eforie is 1.49).
