Abstract:
Isothermal crystallization of polymers is a well-known subject, theoretically and experimentally widely studied. However, the investigation have to made face to two problems: the experiments confirm the theory only for linear polymers under 2D conditions (thin films) and the fact that, after the melt-solid transition, two phases are found: crystalline and amorphous. However, the acceptance of the biphasic model is a forced hypothesis: due to the secondary crystallization process, experimentally confirmed and which can significantly increase the degree of crystallization. In this work, we proposed the use of a multiparametric method to confirm the above mentioned steps and, as an experimental method, we used the transmission of polarized light which confirmed our theory.
