Abstract:
Recent studies revealed that mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) are versatile structures having unique advantages that may allow their application as multifunctional platforms for nanomedicine. This work presents an original design of silica bionanohybrids based on MSNs and tangerine extract. The use of natural resources leads to obtaining safer nanomaterials with potential applications in biomedical field. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA). Morphological analysis showed the spherical-shaped particles with diameters in the range of 165.8-399.4 nm for MSNs, and 55.7-100.3 nm for Citrus-silica nanohybrids.
