Abstract:
In this paper we present a device that offers the possibility of plotting the current-voltage characteristic for a photovoltaic cell. The device performs all the stages of a classic experiment of plotting the characteristic curve of a photovoltaic cell by automatically modifying the load resistance, measuring the intensity and the voltage, storing data, accessing data and shown the characteristic curve. For this we used the Arduino Yun development board that contains two processors, one that executes a C code that allows execution of all measurements, processing and data acquisition operations, and another which is running a Linux operating system that provides Ethernet and WI-FI connection, making the connection with the user. The use of this device in the didactic process does not replace the classic experiment but helps the user by reducing the time of the experiment, increasing the precision of the measurements, presenting the data in an attractive graphic form but especially by easily accessing using any device which can access a web page.
