Metallic nanoparticles, "green" methods, antimicrobial activity, antioxidant properties, cancer.

Abstract:
Nowadays, metallic nanoparticles received growing attention by the scientific biomedical community, being applied as drug delivery systems, antimicrobial and antioxidant agents, in tissue regeneration, and also for cancer diagnostic and therapy. Our work presents the advantages of "green" methods to generate nano-metals. The use of bio-generated metallic nanoparticles as building blocks to design improved materials for medical applications still remains a challenge.
