Abstract:
Electron cyclotron resonance ion sources (ECRIS) are used to generate multiple ionised ion beams. The ECRIS 14 GHz facility from Horia Hulubei National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering has been upgraded by implementing the laser ablation technique in order to provide metallic ion beams for the extraction. Multiple ionized copper ions have been separated until now; further improvements are in progress.
