Abstract:
We recently showed [1] that after irradiation of thin films ionic salts (NaCl, K2CrO4) diluted solutions with a single pulse Infra-Red (IR) laser, many circular ripples of single crystals are formed. The present paper continues this study by using nanospheres colloidal solutions (300 nm, 500 nm, 1 µm) instead of ionic salts. Using the same conditions as in the case of ionic salts, besides ripples, we observe the formation of a large nanosphere monolayer ribbon in which the range order of self-assembled nanosphere is quite remarkable for a dynamic self-assembly process. The resulted monolayers can be used as opto-electrical or opto-magnetical sensors but also providing important information about the dynamic self-assembly phenomenon.
