Abstract:
PMMA thin polymer films prepared by spin coating were analyzed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The spectral analysis of nematic liquid crystal using two optical sources as well as their analysis in polarized light shows the complexity and diversity of optical phenomena in liquid crystal. Spectral transmission analyzed in the range of 230-700nm changes depending on the orientation of the polarization plane of the radiation while investigating the liquid crystal. Furthermore, the obtained PMMA thin polymer films were employed to build experimental cells filled with nematic liquid crystal for electro-optical measurements. The average transmittance value of the PMMA/ITO glass layer was above 80% in the visible range.
