Abstract:
In cosmic ray experiments we often measure the energy deposited by secondary particles from Extensive Air Showers (EAS) in surface detectors. In order to determine the characteristics of the EAS detected we need to link the energy deposit to the charged particle density. This is done using a Lateral Energy Correction Function computed from simulated events. In this work we describe the method used to compute the Lateral Energy Correction Functions and the way they influence the reconstructed charged particle density.
