Abstract:
The present paper aims at carrying out a case study that has as main topic the implementation of solar panels with the purpose of reducing the electric current consumed by a residence in an isolated area near Bucharest. The purpose of the case study it’s considerable decrease energy costs, by implementing solar panels and in addition, using the alternative energy, providing a positive contribution to the enviroment. Reducing energy consumed through alternative energy can lead to a significant improvement in the enviroment and costs, as well as the development of isolated communities across the country. The residence in question has an area of approximately 300 and an electrical consumption demand of approximately 100 Kwh/. The residence is equipped with a wood-fired power station, acces to electricity and acces to drinking water. A central heating plant is used to heat the house and two main energy cosumers include two electric water pumps, with a consumption of 750 W, each. It’s desired to implement solar panel to reduce energy consumption by 25%. To reduce consumption altogether, it is necessary to use solar panels with a power of 4 KW. All calculations needed in the case study are performed using the RetScreen program. This program requires real data to produce good economic and financial analysis, but also to provide a more realistic result for reducing energy consumption compared to real energy consumption lowered by solar panels. The data used to perform the analysis are real data provided by analyzing the parameters recorded both on the ground and in the atmosphere. The result of the case study can influence the development of isolated communities and helping to develop them.
