Abstract: In the context of emerging discoveries in the nanotechnology field, many solutions have been found to solve the problems arising in the medical field. Metallic nanoparticles have drawn interest because of their various properties and the possibility to modulate them, in order to fit the final application. Even if today there is a diversity of methods to be employed in the synthesis of such materials and many functionalizing approaches have been implemented, the scientific community is still searching for improvement, in order to reduce the possible cytotoxic effects. Here, we evaluated the in vitro effects of different metallic nanoparticles, synthesized for medical applications, in order to establish their potential outcome against fibroblast cells, at various concentrations. For this, we assessed the viability of the cells after the exposure to nanoparticles, the impact on the cytoskeleton integrity and morphology of the nucleus, but also the potential genotoxic effects.
