Abstract:
The Earth is continuously being bombarded by cosmic rays from everywhere and always has been. Most of the primary cosmic ray particles are either heavy or light nuclei, which travel astronomical distances from within or outside our Milky Way galaxy at nearly the speed of light. In order to have a friendly closer look at the development of Extensive Air Showers (EAS) in the Earth’s atmosphere, we have developed an EAS Browser Display, which is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) designed to make learning easier for any user about what air showers are, how can they be detected and why are they so interesting scientifically worldwide. The GUI offers basic information about the EAS properties, geometry and current detection techniques, as well as external links to videos and web pages, like the world’s largest cosmic rays experiment Pierre Auger Observatory, from where one can learn more about the mystery of the ultra high energy cosmic rays, like their origins and production mechanisms, as would be discussed in the paper.
