Abstract:
Ultrathin polymer films obtained by various experimental techniques represent an important topic in nowadays emerging application arena. In the case of plasma depositions, the properties of the obtained thin films depend on many parameters such as: discharge voltage of the reactor, chamber pressure, temperature, shape and distance between the electrodes etc. The morphology of the resulting sample is most of the times different when comparing to the case of the classical methods of obtaining polymers (as results these plasma films are called duromers). Synergic effects often cause difficulties in the experimental procedure, such that a clear result is somehow hard to predict. The crystallization process has specific properties, mostly 2D or rarely even 1D order levels. An important role in the deposition is played by the substrate (thermal conduction is highly relevant). By restricting the microchain’s degrees of freedom the ordering of the system is inferior when compared to the 3D systems scenario.
