Abstract: Thin polymer films have numerous technological applications in various industrial and biomedical sectors related to protective and functional coatings, biocompatibility of medical implants, advanced membranes, microfluidics, lubrication and friction modification.
Thin polymer films have a complex architecture and chemical composition that may auxiliary include also other components such as nanoparticles. These systems posses new physical properties due to constraints generated by the presence of interfaces and surfaces. For the obtaining of these structures we employed self-assembly and self organizational experimental techniques in liquid phase (approaches such as dip-coating, spin-coating, casting and droplet evaporation). The analysis of the resulting systems include Atomic Force Microscopy and optical methods (spectroscopic etc).
