Abstract:
Within this talk, we shall first analyze the emergence of quintom models for the dark energy phenomenon, discussing the present status of the quintom paradigm and the various theoretical techniques considered in scalar tensor theories which are applicable. Secondly, we shall propose and analyze new possible quintom scenarios with non-minimal couplings for the quintessence and phantom fields in the theoretical framework of general relativity, discussing the possible implications for the future evolution of the Universe, highlighting some possible constraints.
