Abstract:
Making a good student training involves performing experiments which consist in reading of parameter values, data recording and analysis in a very short time. In this paper we present an electronic device, based on the Arduino Yun development board, which performs the steps of the classic experiment of plotting the current-voltage characteristic of a photovoltaic cell. Modification of load resistance is achieved by means of a variable-voltage MOS transistor ordered in the grid. The entire measurement process is conducted by a microcontroller that performs direct voltage measurement and also the measurement of the current through a Hall effect sensor. The measured values are written in a text file on an SD card within the timeframe given by the conditions Vcell = 0V at one end and the Icell = 0A at the other end. Communication with the device is done on a html page via a microprocessor running an OS which controls an Ethernet and a WI-FI module.
