Abstract:
A new generation of LAr TPC detectors is currently being developed and aims to study the properties of neutrinos and to search for proton decay. One of the DUNE’s goals is the detection of the neutrinos from supernovae. When these low-energy neutrinos interact with the detector’s active volume, charged current quasi-elastic scattering has the highest probability of occurrence. The reaction of interest, nu_e + 40Ar -> 40K + e, was investigated using MARLEY Monte Carlo generator code. In this work, a short discussion on the obtained results and their impact on the detection will be made.
