Abstract:
Wobbling motion is a signature for triaxial highly deformed nuclei which is observed both in even-even and even-odd nuclei. In the present work, a unitary description for this motion is made for the two types of nuclei. In both cases, compact formulas for wobbling frequencies are obtained. The developed model is applied to $^{158}$Er and $^{165}$Lu and a very good agreement with the available data is achieved. Indeed, the yrast energy band in the even-even case and the three triaxial strongly deformed bands TSD1, TSD2 and TSD3 from $^{165}$Lu are realistically described. Also, a good agreement with the experimental data for the M1 and E2 transition probabilities is obtained. As a result, the present framework seems to be a successful tool for describing wobbling motion in nuclei.
