Abstract:
We study the polarization properties of the photons emitted in the scattering of a low intensity plane wave laser pulse on electrons, described by Volkov spinors written in the low intensity approximation. In a first approach we consider the initial electron unpolarized and assume that the polarization of the scattered electron is not measured. We compare the results with those corresponding to a Klein Gordon particle described by the so called Gordon-Volkov solution. In the second step of our study we refer to the case when the electron helicity is fixed in the initial and/or final state. We study the influence of the incident electron energy on the results.
